Auntie Em's visit

Last week, we were so excited to have Auntie Em, my brother's wife, come visit. She and my brother, Uncle J, just moved back to Kansas from England. Uncle J is currently in Alabama at Commisioned Officer Training. He had been a Senior Airman until last month and has since become a 2nd Lt. and will be part of the Medical Services Corps.

We had a great time having Auntie Em visit. On Saturday, after Deanna picked her up, Elizabeth and I went with them out to dinner at PF Changs. (The older kids were on base at the Child Development Center (CDC)... They have a program called Give Parents a Break, which gives deployed parents 6 hours of free childcare on one Saturday a month. This was only our second time to participate, but we all had fun!). On Sunday, we celebrated Miss M's birthday with her friends here at the house (post to come). Monday we had a relaxing day at home. She made "Haney Pizza." It was so delicious, with tomato sauce, spinach and feta cheese. Miss M, our super picky eater, even ate a whole piece!!

The kids just adore Em and she is wonderful with them. She watched them while I worked on Tuesday, and when I came home on a break to nurse, she had all the older 3 asleep, had mopped my floors and was making peanut butter cookies.

We were sad to send her back to Kansas on Wednesday and look forward to another visit from her (and maybe Uncle J next time too!).
