And he's off...

Mr. T took his first steps yesterday! He walked from Deanna to me because I was holding the Desitin (diaper cream) that he wanted so badly. His progression to walking was pretty fast. On Monday, he finally made the transition from army belly crawl to the real kind. And then on Tuesday, he started taking steps. I am sure he will be happy to show off his new skills when we get to WA.

Speaking of WA, we are headed that way via San Francisco and the Redwoods on Friday. Yeah! We look forward to seeing everyone that lives up there soon.

"I'm so glad God creationed us" -Miss M

Dress up is a favorite activity in our house, here we have a chef and a flower girl Mr. T having fun with his sisters
This pic was takin in May at one of our favorite parks
Getting some sisterly love (this was from a couple of months ago)
Aunt Nanny and Miss O playing "little face, big face"

Welcome to everyone who linked to my blog from the email I sent out! My sister and I started blogging last month because we were fans of my cousin and friends blog. Also, although I love to scrapbook I have found that I lack much time to do it these days (hmm, I wonder why...) so, I thought this would be a good way to to journal my thoughts so some day I can put them in a book for the kids. And, it's nice to be able to share pics of the kids because they grow up so fast. I hope you enjoy it and please feel free to leave me some comments!!

Superwoman

My friend, Susan Martin (aka Aunt Susie) is amazing! She just finished her first mini-triathalon in Spokane. She did the whole thing...... swimming, biking and running! I am so proud of her. She had her first baby 4 months ago and has been working so hard the last couple months to get ready for this. Way to go Susan!

Yogurt Boy

The girls love to have a yogurt snack before bed. The other night they were enjoying their yogurt and got distracted by something. They ran off and left their yogurt on the table. Well Mr. T spotted it. He now has some pretty sweet standing skills, so he crawled over, stood up by the table and grabbed off Miss O's yogurt. He was happily eating it when I came out of the kitchen to check on him. It was so cute that I had to go grab the camera... After the pictures were taken though, I ended up having to give him a bath and mop the floors. Oh the fun of motherhood!

Family Camp 2008

We spent this past weekend in Duck Creek, UT camping with all our friends from Grace. We had a wonderful time in the beautiful forests of Southern Nevada. The kids loved digging in the dirt. Mr. T still has a bunch of it under his fingernails. We also enjoyed getting to know more of our church family. We shared delicious meals with them, played kickball, sang songs around the campfire and ate smores. Mr. J was a hit among the preteen boys, many of whom are boy scouts, as he displayed his stellar fire building skills. Deanna and Tom also joined us for camping. On Saturday, we visited a place called Cedar Breaks in Bryan Head National park and after we broke down camp on Sunday, we drove to nearby Zion National Park. It was awesome to see God's beautiful creation.

Apparently Miss M has her daddy's fear of heights. This is the closest she would get to the railing.

Survivorman

Last weekend Mr. J was asked to do a 45 min briefing about survival stuff at a local guard units family day. It was so neat for me to see him doing what he does every day.. teach. He did an amazing job. He talked the about the 5 needs of a survivor. That includes everyones favorite... sustenance (food) and like any good survival instructor, he brought along some bugs for the crowd to enjoy. These include crickets, worms, and ants. Also, he brought along a life raft that many people enjoyed floating on in the olympic size base pool.

Ms. O's Dirt Cup

Last week, we went to one of our favorite dining spots in Vegas called Mimi's Cafe. Mr. J had received a gift card to there and so we took the family. They have a fun kid friendly meal that includes a very special dessert... the dirt cup. The girls were very excited to get theirs and dig for the gummy worm. Miss O was a bit skirmish about actually touching the worm. She just laughed and laughed.

Leaving on a jet plane...

We took my mom to the airport today to fly back home to Washington!

It is always such a fun time when she comes to visit. The kids have a blast with her. The coolest thing that happened while she was here is that she potty trained Olivia! Olivia has been going occassionally before my mom got here but Mom always remembered to take her all the time, and now she is a pro at keeping dry all day! Yay!

4th of July

Hey everyone! Sorry I have kind of been a blog slacker this week. But it's for a good reason! My mom has been in town for the last week and a half. We have been having a great time and are bummed that we have to take her to the airport tomorrow :( I will post fun pictures of us later.

Today I found my friend Amber's cool blog and she posted some pictures of us from the 4th, so I thought I would post them for you all to see. We had a great time having dinner here and then taking the kids to Freedom Fest at the base. At Freedom Fest they had fun things to keep the kids entertained until the fireworks and lots of different booths and food. One of the kids activities included those big inflatable bounce houses. The girls had a fun time jumping in one of the many they had set up. Well, as they were jumping, I heard a mother screaming at her kids in the one next to us. I thought, wow, her kids must be acting really naughty or something. Well, a couple seconds letter I heard a lot of people yelling and kids screaming. Turns out, it started to rapidly deflate with all the children in it! As you may know, the only way in and out of most of those things is a tiny flap in the front, so you can't really get in there to pull the kids out. Thanks to some fast moving guys *including my wonderful husband* they worked together and got all the kids got out of there quickly and without injury. The only damage that was done was to the Jamba Juice we had just bought. It's split open after Mr. J set it down to help hold up the jump house. Thankfully, the nice people at the Jamba booth gave him a new one! So the moral of that story is to always carefully supervise your kids in those things. The CPSC has some helpful tips as well.
